Installation

Instructions

Unpack all parametric slices and mounting parts from the crate being sure to handle with care. We recommend sorting each parametric slice in numerical order to make the installation process faster.

Each slice is labeled. Be sure to set aside the first and last slices, noticing that these two slices are slightly different than the others on their back edges.

Determine the location you want the piece installed on your wall, including the height and center point.

Using a long level or straight edge, draw a pencil line on the wall for the first Rear Mounting Strip location, taking into account that the mounting strip must be mounted lower than the top edge of the finishing height of the piece.

For this piece, we are measuring 13-5/8" down from the top edge of the piece to locate the mounting strip at our desired height. Mark the center point of the piece on your pencil line.

Using a stud finder, mark all studs along the pencil line. Locate the Top Right Rear Mounting Strip and align it with the top edge of your pencil line and center point. Using the 3" screws provided, fasten the Top Right Rear Mounting Strip to your wall studs. Make sure that all screws are countersunk just below the surface of the material. Pre-drilling holes at stud locations is recommended for ease of installation. Repeat the above step for the Top Left Rear Mounting Strip.

Locate the Top Right Front Mounting Strip and 1-1/4" screws provided. Screw in the 1-1/4" screws into the factory provided alignment holes so that the screws stick out just passed the back edge of the front mounting strip. Lightly press the front mounting strip on top of the rear strip and align with the bottom edges flush to each other. You should feel the 1-1/4" screws fall into the alignment holes on the rear mounting strip. Once aligned, complete the step by screwing the 1-1/4" screws the rest of the way in. Be sure to countersink these screws just below the surface of the material. Repeat the above step for the Top Left Front Mounting Strip.

Locate the OneFix connectors provided. Insert a OneFix connector into the 8mm hole on the far right edge of the Top Right Front Mounting Strip, making certain that the phillips head screw is facing towards the center of the art piece. Repeat the process for the top left side, also with the phillips head screw facing towards the center point. Please note that the OneFix connector may be in the locked position from the factory and may need to be slightly loosened with a phillips screwdriver prior to the next step.

Locate your first and last parametric slices. For this design, they are slice #1 and #80. Press slice #1 onto the top left mounting strips and OneFix connector. This step may take some pressure and tapping to ease the part into position. Once the slice is fit tightly against the first notch of the mounting strip and the OneFix connector is flush inside the hole, lock in the OneFix connector by turning the screw clockwise with a phillips screwdriver. Repeat the above step for the last slice on the top right mounting strips.

Locate the Left & Right Bottom Rear Mounting Strips. Using a partner, slide the right rear mounting strip into the mounting slot on the bottom of the last slice. Place a level on the part and hold it in the level position. Draw a pencil line on the the wall along the top edge of the mounting strip. Remove the mounting strip and set it aside. Repeat this process of the left side, so that you have a line drawn all the way across.

Remove the parts from the wall and locate all studs along the line. Re-insert the Bottom Rear Right Mounting bracket into the mounting slot on the last slice, holding the mounting strip flush to the top edge of your pencil line. Fasten the mounting strip to the wall studs using the 3" screws provided. Repeat the process for the left side, making certain that the mounting strip is set flush to your level pencil line and is lining up precisely with the right rear mounting strips.

Please note, these mounting strips must be precisely in line with each other in order to complete this installation.

Locate the Left & Right Bottom Front Mounting Strips, remaining OneFix connectors and remaining 1-1/4" screws. Insert the final two OneFix connectors into the bottom 8mm holes on both bottom front mounting strips, just as previously done above. Screw in the 1-1/4" screws into the factory provided alignment holes so that the screws stick out just passed the back edge of the front mounting strip. Using a partner, guide right side of the Bottom Right Front Mounting Strip into the mounting slot on the last slice, lightly tapping the side of the slice if needed to ease it into place. Once the slice is fit tightly against the first notch of the mounting strip and the OneFix connector is flush inside the hole, lock in the OneFix connector by turning the screw clockwise with a phillips screwdriver. Ensure that the 1-1/4" screws are aligning with the alignment holes on the rear mounting strip. Once aligned, complete the step by screwing the 1-1/4" screws the rest of the way in. Be sure to countersink these screws just below the surface of the material. Repeat the process for the left side.

Final step: Starting with Parametric Slice #2 and continuing in numerical order, begin hanging each slice between the corresponding notches on the mounting brackets, starting on the left and moving to the right. Notice the "hooks" cut in to the back edge of the slices and ensure that these hooks are facing downwards before attempting to hang them. Press the slice in between the mounting strip notches until the back edge of the slice reaches the wall, then slide the slice downwards until it hangs securely on the mounting strips. The slices may require light pressure or wiggling to ease them into place.

Your installation is now complete.
